A concert dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev was held in Almaty.

In honor of the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev's birth, a gala concert, "Ata Tolgauy," was held in Almaty. In connection with the outstanding poet's anniversary, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter to the staff of the Zhambyl Philharmonic and the event's participants. The Head of State's address was read by his Advisor, Malik Otarbayev.
"In his immortal works, the great zhyrshy extolled such unshakable values ​​as patriotism, unity, courage, honesty, and justice. This outstanding son of our people made an invaluable contribution to expanding the horizons of aitys art, reviving epic traditions, and strengthening Kazakh-Kyrgyz literary ties," the letter reads.
Sultan Rayev, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture and Art (TURKSOY), Mereke Kulkenov, Chairman of the Board of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, and others also participated.
The concert program featured the Otyrar Sazy Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Orchestra named after N. Tlendiev, the B. Baikadamov State Choir, Philharmonic soloists, and artists from the Almaty region. The evening also celebrated the 165th anniversary of Dina Nurpeisova's birth. An exhibition was also organized, where visitors could view valuable exhibits related to the life and work of the great poet.
