National crafts are an integral part of Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, reflecting the history, worldview, and spiritual values ​​of the people. Today, preserving these traditions and passing them on to the younger generation is particularly important, opening up new opportunities for the development of creative industries.
It is with this goal in mind that the "School of National Crafts" educational project, organized by the Creative Industries Development Fund, is being implemented on the Qazaq Creative Hub platform. The project aims to popularize traditional crafts, support talented children and youth, and develop a new generation of creative industry specialists.
Interest in the project was high: over 450 applications were received from all regions of the country, and following a competitive selection process, 208 participants were awarded free training. Currently, training is offered in 10 areas of national crafts, including jewelry, felting, ceramics, bone carving, carpet weaving, leatherworking, woodworking, and other traditional arts and crafts. Under the guidance of experienced artisans, participants master working with natural materials, explore traditional techniques, and acquire practical skills.
The project's unique feature is the combination of practical training with immersion in the philosophy and history of national crafts. Each lesson becomes not only a master class but also a lively dialogue between generations, during which renowned artisans share their knowledge, experience, and respect for traditions with children.
The "School of National Crafts" is a project that combines tradition and modern creative approaches, creating an environment for unleashing the creative potential of children and young people. It is here that a new generation of artisans is formed, capable of carefully preserving national heritage and giving it a contemporary twist.
