The "Songs of Shamshi" arts festival, dedicated to the work of People's Artist of Kazakhstan and composer Shamshi Kaldayakov, took place in Turkestan.
The festival brought together renowned performers and young artists. Works that have become part of the Kazakh pop music tradition were performed.
The concert program featured the Zhigitter quartet, the groups Melomen, Saryn, and Turan Boys, as well as Moldir Auelbekova, Marzhan Arapbayeva, Altynai Zhorabayeva, Ali Okapov, Duyimzhan Tanatarov, and other performers.
The project aims to preserve and promote Shamshi Kaldayakov's musical legacy, as well as support a new generation of artists exploring the classics of national pop music. The festival is expected to become one of Turkestan's permanent cultural venues.
