The Roza Baglanova Kazakhconcert State Academic Concert Organization, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted the concert "Біздің жәрмеңке – жыр-дастан", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Almas Almatov, Honored Figure of Kazakhstan, zhyrau and folklore researcher.

As part of the event, the anniversary celebrant was presented with a congratulatory letter from Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The letter noted Almas Almatov's significant contribution to the development of national culture, the popularization of zhyrau-terme art, the scientific study of Kazakh epic heritage, and the transmission of the zhyrau tradition to new generations.

"Your contribution to the popularization of national art and the revival of the zhyrau-terme tradition is significant. You worthily represent Kazakh zhyrau on the world stage, strengthening the position of national art in the space of cultural heritage," the letter states.

Almas Almatov is widely known as a performer and researcher of traditional art. Over the years, he has represented Kazakh spiritual heritage on stages in France, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia, participating in international folklore tours and music symposiums of Asian peoples.

The program of the anniversary evening united zhyrau-dastans, terme, and tolgau. Special attention was paid to the continuity of generations: Almas Almatov performed the work "Zhyrau Bastau", and his students from various years presented the continuation of the zhyrau school.
