On May 16, the "Night of Museums" event, dedicated to International Museum Day, kicked off at the Abylkhan Kasteyev National Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the first day, 15,100 people visited the museum, showing great interest in the cultural event.
This year, the event is held under the theme "Museums at the Crossroads of Worlds" and features a rich program combining national art and modern formats. Exhibitions, performances, theatrical productions, a concert program, master classes, and interactive quests are organized for visitors.
As part of the event, the "Zheti Kazyna" exhibition is open. For children and teenagers, an educational and interactive quest, as well as master classes in modeling, fenechka weaving, and drawing in the pointillism technique, are also held.
The event takes place in all museums and museum-reserves across the country. For instance, on May 18, a performance by violinist Nazym Mustafina will be held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Additionally, at the National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, visitors will be presented with a program dedicated to the preservation of museum collections and the replenishment of exhibits. Night excursions to monuments, theatrical programs, and more will also take place in museum-reserves.
It should be noted that on this day, museums will be open to visitors until 00:00, and admission is free.
