
As part of the 5th National Kurultai, the Arts Center hosted a gala concert, "Ainaldym Senen, Atameken," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of poet Shomishbay Sariyev. The event was attended by Arman Kyrykbayev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Domestic Policy and Communications; Aida Balaeva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information; Zhumagul Sariyeva, the poet's wife; and members of the National Kurultai.
The work of one of the most prominent figures of Kazakh poetry was presented in the musical compositions "Karagym-ai," "Sälem saään, tuään el," "Sen müñãyãdy ber maään," "èkÖnbe sen," and others, performed by regional artists accompanied by a symphony orchestra and the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Syr samaly."
Shomishbai Sariev wrote over 300 poems, published 15 books, and cemented his place in the history of Kazakhstani literature not only as the author of his own poems but also as a talented translator, who has given Kazakhstani readers authorized translations of the poems of Irakli Abashidze, Olga Bergholz, Andrey Dementyev, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Luis de Comões, and many other poets.
The gala concert became a significant event in the cultural life of the region, reflecting the poet's influence on the poetic world of Kazakhstan. At the end of the evening, flowers were presented on behalf of Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nurlybek Nalibayev, Akim of the Kyzylorda Region.
