Astana Musical State Theatre, part of the Rosa Baglanova “Kazakhconcert” State Academic Concert Organization, has opened its anniversary creative season with the musical “The Vow of Friends.” This year marks the 10th anniversary of the theatre’s founding.

There is special significance in opening the anniversary season with the production that marked the beginning of the theatre’s history. “The Vow of Friends” has been one of the company’s main productions for the past ten years. Traditionally, the theatre begins each new creative season with this musical.

The performance featured well-known works by Nurgisa Tlendiyev, Shamshi Kaldayakov, Eskendir Khasangaliev, and the Dos-Mukasan ensemble. The production was enhanced by choreographic numbers in various styles and artistic stage design.

Astana Musical was founded in 2016 and became the first theatre in Central Asia specializing in the musical theatre genre. Over the past decade, the company has developed its own distinctive artistic identity, expanded its repertoire, and built a loyal audience.

During its anniversary season, Astana Musical will add two more new productions to its repertoire.
