Mangystau artists took part in an international art expedition in Mongolia

Six professional artists from the Mangystau Region took part in the international art expedition ART EXPEDITION – MONGOLIA 2026, “In the Footsteps of Nomads,” held in Mongolia. The expedition aimed to explore the history and culture of nomadic civilization, develop international creative connections, and promote professional exchange among artists.

As part of the trip, the artists worked en plein air in Ulaanbaatar, Terelj National Park, Arkhangai Province, the Orkhon Valley, and the Gobi Desert. Professional artists from Mongolia and representatives of the international art community also joined the creative program.

During the plein air sessions, participants explored Mongolia’s natural landscapes, nomadic culture, national traditions, and historical and cultural heritage. The program also included visits to art galleries and national museums. Artists from Mangystau and Mongolia exchanged professional experience, creative approaches, and artistic practices.

The project was implemented with organizational support from the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives and the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of the Mangystau Region.
