On June 26-27, the Astana Ballet Theatre will present the premiere of the ballet "Altyn Gul," which will close the theatrical season.
The production is inspired by a gold plate depicting a tulip from the 3rd-2nd centuries BC, discovered in the Tenlik burial mounds. The libretto was written by poet and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Kairbekov. The production addresses issues of preserving cultural heritage, national identity, and the relationship between humans and nature.
The plot centers on the story of a master jeweler inspired by the beauty of the steppe tulip. The themes of generational continuity, finding one's path, and preserving cultural values are explored through choreography, music, and stage imagery. Renat Gaisin, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, composed the music for the ballet. The production's director and choreographer is Mukaram Abubakhrieva, Honored Figure of Kazakhstan and the theater's principal choreographer. The visual appearance of the production is complemented by costumes created by artist Aigerim Altybasarova.
The production combines elements of classical ballet, neoclassicism, and contemporary dance. The performance will be accompanied by the theater's symphony orchestra under the direction of principal conductor Arman Urazgaliyev.
