The author of the idea of ​​the musical evening is Honored Artist of Kazakhstan soprano Galia Baigazinova, who, together with her colleagues - soloists of the Astana Opera Theater and invited artists - will perform both popular and rarely heard works by the composer.

The work of Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov occupies a special place in the repertoire of the Astana Opera Theater. In November last year, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the famous composer, the premiere of his comic opera “Aisulu” was a great success on the stage of the Bolshoi Hall of the theater, which received high praise from critics and audiences. Events dedicated to the anniversary date continue in the capital theater this year as well.

“The works of Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov, who left an indelible mark on the history of Kazakh culture, never lose their relevance and relevance, because his music intertwines traditions, instructions, and upbringing. His songs captivate with their deep lyricism and melody. I first became acquainted with the music of this talented composer when I was studying at the conservatory. Since then, his songs and romances have not left my repertoire – I continue to perform them at solo concerts and always try to present new works to the public that I have not yet performed. We can safely say that the work of Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov occupies a special place in my heart,” – Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Galia Baigazinova shared her thoughts.

The author of the idea, Galia Baigazinova, said that she had been preparing for the concert for a long time, searching for little-known and unpublished works by the composer.

“The idea to dedicate the evening to the 100th anniversary of Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov and thus pay tribute to his memory has lived in my soul for a long time. The name of the concert “A Century Woven with Songs” has a deep symbolic meaning, because his music has been sounding for many decades. At this anniversary concert, I wanted to present songs that have never been performed before. I plan to introduce listeners who are not yet familiar with his work to his wonderful works, including a concerto for kobyz.”, – added the singer.

Together with Galia Baigazinova, her colleagues will take the stage of the Chamber Hall - soloists of the opera troupe, laureates of international competitions Dinmukhamed Koshkinbayev and Talgat Allabirinov, as well as the theater choir under the direction of Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Erzhan Dautov. In addition, Zhuldyz Naken, soprano, laureate of international competitions, will perform as part of the evening. The piano part will be performed by the theater's concertmasters, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Raushan Beskembirova and Aishabibi Askarova.

The rich program of the concert includes works by Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov based on poems by Abai Kunanbayev: “Qulaqtan kirip boydy alar”, “Zharq etpes qara koңilim ne qylsa da”, “Өzgege, koңilim, toyarsyң”, as well as romances and songs based on words Saken Seifullin – “Boztorgai”, “Jazgy tannan beri”, “Karkaraly”. The decoration of the evening will be arrangements of the Segiz Seri song “Aiken-ai” and compositions by George Byron “Oh, how you sing, my dear.”

In addition, rarely performed works will be performed, such as “Sagindim-au”, “Jazgy dala”, “Qyzgaldak”, “Almaty walsi”, “Koktem walsi”. The audience will also be pleased with Aisulu's aria from the opera "Aisulu" and Aktokty's aria from the opera "Akan seri - Aktokty".

As part of the concert, Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov's Concerto for Kobyz will be presented for the first time on the stage of the K. Baiseitova Chamber Hall, performed by Kenzhegul Musayeva, owner of the badge of honor of Mәdeniet salasynyң үzdіgі (Excellent Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The piano part will be performed by Shahizada Kulseitova, laureate of international competitions.
