Kazakhstan and Turkey strengthen cooperation in the field of restoration of historical manuscripts

A meeting with the President of the Turkish Institute of Manuscripts, Coskun Yilmaz, was held at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the preservation and restoration of a 12th-century manuscript Quran held in the National Library's collection.
Particular attention was paid to the preservation of Turkic-Islamic heritage, as well as studying Turkey's experience in the restoration, conservation, and scientific support of ancient manuscripts.
The meeting also included an exhibition displaying valuable written manuscripts from the library's collection.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. An agreement was also reached to send Turkish specialists to participate in future restoration work.
