The traditional 5th Choral Festival "Gul Almaty – 2026" took place at the Zhambyl Kazakh State Academic Philharmonic. This year, one of the major choral events, brought together approximately 500 performers.
Children's, student, and professional ensembles performed on the same stage. Among them were the B. Baikadamov State Choir under the direction of Beimbet Demeuov, the children's choirs "Kokek" and "Koktem," the boys' and girls' choirs of the A. Zhubanov Boarding School, the ensemble of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, the ALAKOZ chamber choir, the Knyazhichi male choir, the choir of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, and the chamber choir of the Y. Rakhmadiev Philharmonic, which arrived specially from Astana.
The festival program included works by Kazakh composers, lyrical songs dedicated to Almaty, and masterpieces of world music. The concert program showcased the diversity of choral performance.
"Gul Almaty" has been held for the fifth year in a row and has become a professional platform bringing together young performers and recognized masters. The festival promotes the exchange of experience between choral schools, the expansion of repertoires, and the development of children's and professional choral art.
