From October 5th to 8th, the TURKSOY International Student Theatre Festival took place in Turkestan, bringing together creative groups from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey.
Over the course of four days, young artists presented their productions, demonstrated their acting skills, and exchanged professional experiences while learning about the theatrical traditions of Turkic countries.
Following the festival's results, students from the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts won the "Best Classical Performance" award. The jury highly commended their production of "Karagoz," based on Mukhtar Auezov's play.
The performance was presented by fourth-year students majoring in "Drama Theater and Film Actors." The director was Farhad Moldagali, winner of the Daryn State Youth Prize.
