Arman Kyrykbayev paid tribute to those who fought for the country's independence and dedicated their lives to defending their homeland, laying a wreath at the memorial. He also paid his respects to the spirit of General Hong Beom-do.
This memorial complex in Daejeon is considered one of the most significant places of reverence in the Republic of Korea. It is the final resting place for nearly 150,000 people who made exceptional contributions to the country. The name of General Hong Beom-do holds a special place in the shared history connecting Kazakhstan and Korea. He spent the final years of his life in Kazakhstan and was buried in Kyzylorda. In 2021, with Kazakhstan's support, his remains were repatriated to his homeland and reburied in Daejeon.
This year marks five years since the remains of General Hong Beom-do were transferred from Kyzylorda to the Republic of Korea. His life journey has become a meaningful milestone in the shared history that brings the two peoples closer together.
At the end of the visit, Arman Kyrykbayev left a commemorative entry in the guest book of honor. This ceremony at the memorial complex demonstrated respect for the historical heritage of both countries and highlighted the importance of further strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Korea.
