
The 4th International Almaty Circus Festival, which brought together artists from around the world, concluded at the Kazakh State Circus.
The Grand Prix was won by Chinese artists Zhang Hao and Li Tian Meng from the Hebei Wuqiao Acrobatic Arts School. They presented their "Double Wire Act," a combination of free-wire and tightrope performances.
Gold medals were awarded to French artists Turbelin Matéo Antoine and Savary Elia for their double diabolo act "Venus," the Mongolian troupe Selenge under the direction of Urangoo Chinbatar, and aerialists Egor and Anastasia Kovalenko from the Belarusian State Circus.
Silver medals went to the Hungarian duo Kriko, Russian artist Olga Rozhkovskaya, and the Swiss duo Janine & Fabien. Bronze medals were awarded to the Sky Angels Infinity Aliyeva group from Uzbekistan, juggler David Emishyan, representing Ukraine and Armenia, and the Aspan Arulary aerialists from the Shymkent Circus.
The competition numbers were judged by an international jury consisting of the heads of circus organizations, festivals, and production companies. Participants also received special prizes and invitations to participate in international projects.
A gala show featuring the festival's artists will be presented at the Kazakh State Circus until August 23.
