Kazakhstan Animation Week has kicked off in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is hosting "Kazakhstan Animation Week"—a series of non-commercial screenings of domestic cartoons for children, teenagers, and families.
Free screenings are being held at the Arsenal cinema in Astana and the Saryzhaylau cinema in Karaganda. Additionally, with the support of the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, screenings are being held at the Center's venue in the capital, as well as in remote military garrisons, including Semey, Otar, Saryozek, and Almaty. This format allows for the inclusion of military families and residents of closed towns, for whom access to premiere film screenings is often limited.
The week's program is designed for audiences of all ages and interests. It includes full-length animated fairy tales, original short films, and exclusive premieres from 2025. Along with new films, viewers will also be able to see cartoons from the collections of Kazakhfilm and the Cinema Support Center. The project is being implemented by the Kazakhanimation creative association at the Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm Studio with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Center for Support of National Cinema. The initiative aims to develop national animation, promote high-quality content in the state language, and expand the audience for domestic animated films.
