Erlan Kanalimov, Chairman of the Board of the Creative Industries Development Fund, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay Taganuly, and the head of the public foundation signed a tripartite memorandum aimed at developing a reading culture.
This collaboration is aimed at implementing the Decree of the Head of State of March 16, 2026, "On the Development of a Reading Culture and the Formation of an Intellectual Nation." The project plans to engage more than 1 million citizens in reading and ensure up to 15 million book readings.
As part of the "Reading Culture of Kazakhstan" initiative, a special list of 15 books has been approved. It includes five works by Kazakh authors, five works by representatives of Eastern literature, and five works by Western authors.
As part of the memorandum, a national reading marathon, spiritual and educational meetings, and cultural and educational events will be organized. To widely promote reading, we plan to use media content, digital technologies, and creative industry tools.
The project's main goal is to make reading an integral part of public culture, enhance the intellectual potential of citizens, and contribute to the development of an educated and thoughtful generation in Kazakhstan.
For the Creative Industries Development Fund, this collaboration is an important way to strengthen the ties between creative industries and cultural and educational initiatives. Modern content, digital solutions, and creative formats offer broad opportunities to promote reading culture and attract new audiences.
