From November 3 to 5, the 2nd Regional Seminar on the Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World is taking place in Almaty. It is organized by the ISESCO Regional Office in Baku, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the ISESCO World Heritage Centre for the Islamic World.
The event is attended by government officials, experts, and specialists in cultural heritage protection from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
The seminar aims to develop regional cooperation, exchange experiences, and enhance the skills of specialists in the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Over the course of three days, participants will study ISESCO's international approaches to heritage protection, the preparation of nomination dossiers for inscription on the Islamic World Heritage List, and methods for assessing their historical and cultural value.
The program includes practical exercises on inventorying heritage sites, preparing nomination materials, and developing conservation and sustainable management plans.
The first regional seminar was held in Baku. The second seminar in Almaty continues the region's collaborative efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage internationally.
