On August 1-2, 2025, the First World Festival-Contest of Traditional Culture and Music "Rukh-sanaty" was held in Kyrgyzstan.
More than one hundred performers from 37 countries took part in one of the largest events in the world of traditional art. The jury consists of recognized musicologists, ethnographers and artists from different countries who judge the contestants, taking into account the authenticity of the performance, the level of proficiency in traditional musical instruments and the degree of preservation of unique cultural traditions.
Kazakhstan was represented at the festival by a student of the Kazakh National University of Arts named after K. Baiseitova Saltanat Yersultan. Previously, she received a degree in "Director of Animated Films", and is now a 3rd-year student in the direction of "Traditional Singing".
At the competition, Saltanat performed the tolgau of Asan Kaygy, the terme of Nartai and the work "Aralym" by Elmur Zhanabergen. The girl won over the jury of zhyr-terme on kyl kobyz, taking first place among individual performers.
The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan sincerely congratulates Saltanat Yersultan on this significant victory and notes the importance of preserving and developing traditional culture and music as an integral part of the national heritage. Such achievements of young talents inspire the new generation and contribute to strengthening cultural ties in the international arena.
