A round table "Abai - a great personality" dedicated to Abai's Day was held at the Cultural Center of Kazakhstan in Beijing. Representatives of Kazakhstan and China discussed the significance of the creative and philosophical heritage of the great Kazakh poet, his influence on modern culture and the development of Kazakh-Chinese humanitarian ties.

The event was organized by the Cultural Center of Kazakhstan in Beijing jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the PRC and the "Jintai" Museum. Diplomats, scientists, writers, translators, and cultural figures from both countries participated in it.

As part of the meeting, a flower-laying ceremony took place at the monument to Abai Kunanbaiuly in Beijing.

The participants of the round table considered Abai's philosophical ideas, his views on the moral and intellectual development of man, the concept of "Tolyk Adam" and universal human values reflected in the thinker's works. Ideological parallels in the heritage of Abai and Confucius became a separate topic.

Special attention was paid to the popularization of Abai's heritage in China. His works are studied and translated by Chinese researchers and literary figures, and the annual "Abai Readings" in Beijing have become a traditional platform for cultural dialogue between the two countries. This year, the program was supplemented by an international round table.
