Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position as a promising platform for international film production. Filming for the international film "Armour of God: Ultimatum," starring world-renowned actor Jackie Chan, has officially begun in the Mangystau region. This large-scale project is being implemented in partnership with Sәlem Entertainment and Dala Edge Creative Tech Park.
One of the film's key locations was the Bozzhyra ravine, one of Mangystau's most recognizable natural landmarks. Thanks to its unique landscape, this area will serve as the filming location for key scenes in the international blockbuster. Previously, some scenes were filmed at the purpose-built Dala Stage in Kaskelen, Almaty region. Filming in Mangystau will complement the film's visual concept and will allow for the presentation of Kazakhstan's unique natural landscape to a global audience. At the opening ceremony, director Robert Kuhn and actor Jackie Chan traditionally broke a film plate, officially launching the filming process.
This project is significant not only for the film industry but also for the development of creative industries and cultural tourism in Kazakhstan. Filming an international film in the country creates new opportunities for the exchange of experience between domestic and foreign specialists, the development of modern filmmaking technologies, and the formation of international partnerships. Furthermore, the inclusion of natural landmarks like Bozzhyra in world cinema strengthens the region's tourism potential and increases Kazakhstan's visibility on the map of international film locations. According to experts, the implementation of such projects not only enhances the country's investment attractiveness but also contributes to the development of the creative economy. Filming in Kazakhstan will last several months, and its international premiere is scheduled for 2027. The implementation of such large-scale projects strengthens Kazakhstan's position in the global film industry and helps unlock the potential of the national creative ecosystem internationally.
