Valuable exhibits from the Kyzylorda region are on display in the capital

The exhibition includes valuable artifacts from the collections of the Kyzylorda Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, which celebrates its 85th anniversary this year.

Of particular interest are the reconstructions of the "Tugisken Leader" and "Noble Woman from Zhetiasar" completed this year. The remains of the leader from Tugisken were discovered at the South Tugisken monument in the 60s of the last century during the Khorezm archaeological and ethnographic expedition led by S.P. Tolstoy. And during an archaeological expedition led by L.M. Levina to study the Zhetiasar culture, the skeleton of a woman and jewelry, fragments of clothing were found.

"All these reconstructions are scientifically based. They are based on finds and the results of archaeological expeditions. The color of the clothing and the shape of the shoes correspond to the originals. Now archaeology is developing at a rapid pace. If earlier, archaeologists were mainly engaged only in excavations and the transfer of finds to museums, now representatives of other professions, such as geophysicists, biologists, and ecologists, are involved in the work of the archaeological institute. This is necessary in order to understand the animal world, ecology, soil composition or the eating habits of people of that period. Our institute cooperates with laboratories in Germany and France," - said Azilkhan Tazhekeev, Director of the Branch of the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archeology in Astana.

Visitors to the exhibition can also see a ceramic dastarkhan, a collection of mugs, a cauldron, dishes and other artifacts found in the capital of the Oguzs - the Zhankent settlement, as well as glazed facings from the medieval settlement of Kyshkala.

The exhibition includes books, manuscripts, household items that belonged to such famous historical figures as Bukharbay Batyr Estekbaiuly, Kalmukhammed Ishan Maraluly, Er Seitpenbet Auliye, Serdaly Bi Bekshorauly, Kulboldy Ishan Sultanuly. The guests of the exhibition were also presented with the "golden dombra" of the akyn-aytysker M. Niyazov, reconstructed exhibits, about 40 paintings by masters of the brush, stored in the fund of the S. Aitbayev Art Gallery.

The exhibition will last until December 19. It provides all history lovers with the opportunity to get acquainted with the ancient civilization that lived along the lower reaches of the Syr Darya, as well as with the results of comprehensive archaeological excavations carried out during the years of independence in the settlements of Chirik-Rabat, Syganak, Tugisken, Zhetiasar, Zhankent, Kyshkala and Asanas.
