Nearly 700 spectators witnessed the bright opening ceremony, which took place at the Almaty Theater and set a high tone for all the upcoming days of the festival.

Filmmakers, actors and producers from more than 15 countries shone on the red carpet. The grandiose show opened the door to the world of cinema, where cultures, traditions and new approaches to art intersect.

As part of the opening ceremony, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva read out a congratulatory address from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"Dear friends! I congratulate you on the opening of the XVII International Film Festival "Eurasia"! This festival is a unique platform for presenting our culture to the world. This year the event is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of the coryphaeus of Kazakh cinema Shaken Aimanov and the 90th anniversary of the Kazakhfilm studio. These anniversaries have a deep symbolic meaning. Cinematography inspires society to creativity and innovation, promotes universal human values ​​and contributes to the cultural development of society. It also plays an important role in strengthening cultural ties between peoples. Kazakhstan actively supports the development of national cinema. Our filmmakers continue the traditions of the older generation with honor, creating deep, meaningful films that receive recognition and awards at prestigious international competitions," the Head of State said in his congratulatory speech.

The Minister also noted that the outgoing year will be marked by an important event in the domestic film industry. It concerns our Kazakhfilm studio named after Sh. Aimanov, which, thanks to a number of legislative initiatives, is entering a new era of its development.

So, from next year, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan will receive the legal right to directly finance the film studio. The bill will be sent to the President for signature before the end of this year. If the law is adopted, at least 30% of the total funding for films in our country will be directly directed to Kazakhfilm.

"This will solve a large number of current problems, preserve the legacy of the film studio, make its financial position stable, and its work more efficient. I would especially like to note that this festival was made possible, first of all, thanks to our respected patrons and sponsors, who, with their inherent nobility and understanding of the situation, allowed us to organize such a large event without attracting public funds. That is, we are holding this film festival entirely at the expense of sponsorship support. I thank our respected patrons, our friends, for your life philosophy and noble mission of promoting art and culture to the masses. I express my great respect and gratitude to you!", Aida Balayeva added.

The festive concert was continued by videos dedicated to the great filmmaker Shaken Kenzhetayevich Aimanov. The audience enjoyed shots from songs from the films "Kyz Zhibek", "Aldar Kose", "Our Dear Doctor", "Tomiris", "My Name is Kozha", "Skullcap Angel". Then the program was continued by famous artists of Kazakhstan: Amre, Madina Sadvakasova, as well as the Mezzo group, the Asyl group and the Serper ensemble.

The evening ended with the premiere of the film "We Need a Doctor". This is a family picture created by Kazakh filmmakers.

The XVII International Film Festival "Eurasia" will last until November 30, giving viewers the opportunity to enjoy the best films, discover new names and truly immerse themselves in the magic of cinema. The films will be shown at Kinopark 11 Esentai IMAX. Admission is free.

The founder and organizer of the festival is traditionally the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The direct organization of the film festival is entrusted to the National Film Studio "Kazakhfilm" named after Shaken Aimanov, with the support of the Akimat of Almaty.
