In Kazakhstan, there are many productions of this famous ballet, but it is Yuri Grigorovich's version that is recognized as the benchmark. It remains the embodiment of high art, which true connoisseurs of classics aspire to. The ballet troupe of the Astana Opera Theatre, led by world ballet star Altynai Asylmuratova, has long been famous for its professionalism not only in the country but also abroad. It is not surprising that the ensemble has been repeatedly invited to perform this work on the stage of the Dubai Opera, where the performance invariably garnered rave reviews from the audience.
Although the New Year holidays are over, the interest of the Kazakh public in this ballet does not fade away. The set design and costumes, recently returned from the hot Emirates, will once again decorate the stage of the capital's theatre, giving the audience the opportunity to extend the festive mood.
The costumes and scenery, designed by the outstanding theatrical artist Simon Virsaladze, give the production a truly magical atmosphere. Bright colors, interesting details and symbolism turn the performance into a real winter fairy tale.
The audience will be able to enjoy the skill of the soloists of the Astana Opera. Honored Workers of Kazakhstan Aigerim Beketaeva, Baktiyar Adamzhan and Erkin Rakhmatullaev will take to the stage on different days. Young artists - laureates of international competitions Shugyla Adepkhan, Sofia Adilhanova, Dias Kurmangazy, as well as corps de ballet artists will also demonstrate their talent.
"This production was created in the best traditions of classical ballet, which is probably why it is so loved all over the world. The recent tour in Dubai gave us experience, positive emotions, it was interesting to watch how the audience in another country experiences and admires this story. But coming home and performing it in front of the Kazakh public is always especially exciting - our audience feels with their heart, they can start applauding as soon as they are delighted with a particular scene, and this energizes the entire performance," - said Sofia Adilhanova.
