Rare movie posters and premieres: A jubilee exhibition about the masters of cinema has opened in Almaty.

The National Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collaboration with the Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm Studio and the Mentai Cinema Museum, opened the exhibition "Uly Mura – Urpaqqa Osiet." The exhibition is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR, actor, and opera singer Kauken Kenzhetayev, and the 80th anniversary of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan and film actor Mentai Utepbergenov.
As part of the event, the book "Kauken Kenzhetayev," based on archival materials and revealing the artist's creative path, was presented. Soloists from the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai presented examples of Kazakh opera. Of particular interest were exhibits from Mentai Utepbergenov's personal collection: approximately 200 rare movie posters from 1931-1970, film and photo cameras from 1932-1990, Soviet movie cameras and projectors, as well as postcards, newsreels, and photographs.
The evening concluded with a first-time showing of the restored version of the film "Gaukhar Tas" starring Kauken Kenzhetaev, as well as the film "Strange World of Desires and Hopes" starring Mentai Utepbergenov.
