The 9th International Book Fair, Astana Eurasian Book Fair 2026, has concluded in the capital. The fair, one of the largest cultural events in Central Asia, once again brought together representatives of the book industry, authors, experts, and readers.
The Astana Eurasian Book Fair 2026 was organized by Foliant Publishing House with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Astana City Akimat, and the Qazaq Creative Creative Industries Development Fund.
This year, more than 80 organizations participated in the fair, including publishing houses, scientific and educational institutions, and printing companies. A significant number of exhibitors were Kazakh publishers, along with organizations from 15 countries, including Russia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, China, Spain, Iran, Mongolia, and other countries, represented at the international exhibition. Over the course of five days, the exhibition area generated great interest among residents and visitors to the capital. Visitors explored new books, purchased literature, and participated in a rich cultural program.
The fair included book presentations, meetings with authors, autograph sessions, open discussions, and master classes. Programs for children and teenagers were particularly popular. Interactive zones and special educational formats helped to increase the younger generation's interest in reading.
The exhibition featured new works by Kazakh and international authors. Visitors were treated to works of fiction, popular science publications, children's books, photo albums, and collections dedicated to culture and history.
On April 23, the fair hosted special events dedicated to National Book Day. An awards ceremony for the winners of the national "Ulttyk Kitap" competition was also held. The Astana Eurasian Book Fair has become an important communication platform for the professional community. Participants discussed the development of international cooperation, the exchange of experiences, and the implementation of joint projects.
Since 2016, the fair has been a significant event in the country's cultural life. Its geographic reach expands each year, strengthening its international status.
The Astana Eurasian Book Fair 2026 once again demonstrated the high interest in reading culture in Kazakhstan. Books continue to retain their importance as a key tool for the intellectual and spiritual development of society.
