On February 17, 2026, at 4:00 PM, the Abylkhan Kasteyev National Museum of Art will host the opening of the anniversary exhibition "Melody of Ages," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Kami Aitkaliev, a muralist, graphic artist, painter, and master of decorative and applied arts.
The exhibition features over 60 works reflecting the main stages of the artist's creative journey and the formation of his distinctive artistic language. In his works, the artist seamlessly blends national traditions and contemporary artistic explorations, freely working in a variety of genres and techniques.
Kami Aitkaliev's work is distinguished by its expansive artistic vision, decorativeness, and monumentality. His works demonstrate an active interaction between form and color, aimed at evoking the viewer's emotional perception. A special place in the exhibition is occupied by works created using traditional materials and techniques—felt, wool, and patchwork—which reveal the potential of Kazakh decorative and applied arts in a contemporary artistic context.
The exhibition is complemented by graphic works reflecting the artist's artistic creativity and his exploration of line and rhythm.
