A three-day training seminar titled "Practices for Preserving and Transmitting Living Heritage," aimed at implementing the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, is underway at the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The opening ceremony of the seminar was attended by representatives of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, scientists, experts, employees of museums and educational organizations, as well as specialists from various regions of the country.

At the meeting, international facilitators of UNESCO from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand addressed issues related to the broad involvement of local communities in this work, conducting research in steppe regions, and the qualitative preparation of nomination materials.
