The World Nomad Games were first held in Kyrgyzstan, Cholpon-Ata, which hosted them three times. (2014, 2016, 2018)

The 4th World Nomad Games took place in 2022 in Turkey, in the city of Iznik. (3,000 athletes from 102 countries, 13 sports).

This time, the organizers did not accidentally choose the month of September, as a reference to the holiday celebrating the completion of the migration from summer to winter pastures. The path of a caravan of people and animals with yurts and property traditionally ended at a new camp with celebrations, games and competitions.

Usually, the countries where peoples live - the heirs of nomadic civilization - take part in the nomad games in the first place. At the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, the organizers decided to invite teams from all over the world to participate, including countries that were not nomadic - 7-day competitions, both in sports arenas and in cultural and scientific programs.

The main venue for the implementation of the Cultural Program of the WNG will be the Ethno-Village "Universe of Nomads", which will be located on an area of 10 hectares adjacent to the Kazanat hippodrome from the southwest side, and events within the framework of the cultural program will also be held at various venues in the city of Astana (squares, parks, squares, other public spaces, theaters, concert halls, cinemas, museums, exhibition pavilions, etc.).

On the eve of the opening of the Games, a bright theatrical performance "Astana - the capital of nomads" will take place. Cultural events will be held daily at the unique concert venue of the Ethno-Village. Including - the largest exhibition-fair of the best masters and artisans of Kazakhstan with shows of works and master classes, where masters will share the secrets of their craft. An integral part of the cultural program in the Ethno-Village will be the traditional competition of akyns "Aitys", in which leading and novice aitys performers of the country will take part. Modern trends in the world of culture will be shown by the festival "Universe of Nomads."

Much attention in the program of events will be paid to the youngest guests of the Ethno-Village, who will find many entertaining and educational playgrounds and attractions in ethno-style.

Also in the Ethno-Village there will be a podium on which a fashion show will be held. Within the framework of the ethno-fashion festival, various samples of ethnic clothing will be presented, including the leader of this direction - Global Nomads.

The Ethno-Village will host competitions in hunting with birds of prey and demonstration performances in national wrestling. The hospitality and cordiality of the Kazakh people will be demonstrated by the National Cuisine Festival. Master classes will be held here, and each visitor will be able to take part in the preparation of food and drinks.

All events planned by the organizers in the Ethno-Village are aimed at achieving the main goal - popularizing cultural heritage, national values, promoting their national brand - the rich history and culture of the people of Kazakhstan.

The WNG cultural program also includes a film festival.

The events of the scientific program of the Games will be held in the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The world's largest competitions in national sports will be held in 6 metropolitan facilities: Astana Arena Stadium, Kazanat Hippodrome, Zh. Ushkempirov Palace of Martial Arts, Alau Ice Palace, Qazaqstan Athletics Sports Complex, Duman Complex.

The Kazanat hippodrome and the Ethno-Village will host competitions in horse racing, traditional archery and national bird hunting, as well as horse competitions. The Zh. Ushkempirov Palace of Martial Arts and the Alau Ice Palace will host competitions in national wrestling, martial arts and folk games, and the Duman complex will host traditional intellectual games.
