One of the main events will be the Double Reed Music Festival, which will be held on May 11 and 12. (Double Reed – these are only two instruments, oboe and bassoon). The festival will bring together leading musicians specializing in playing wind instruments with a “double reed” – (oboe) Damil Makhpirov and (bassoon) Asset Neldibaev.
The theater's chamber orchestra will perform under the direction of Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Abzal Mukhitdin. As part of the festival, works by classical composers such as A. Vivaldi, W.A. Mozart and others, as well as modern authors, including special arrangements of Kazakh authors, including “Zhaidarman” (arrangement for two oboes) and “Akku dombra” by Alibi Abdinurov, will be performed.
Young talents will have the opportunity to show themselves at the Republican Festival of Children's Creativity “Bala Music Fest”. This festival will be held on May 9, 10 and 19 and will bring together young performers from different cities of Kazakhstan who have already been awarded international awards. Young musicians will present the audience with a wide repertoire from baroque to classical music.
In addition to the festivals, other significant musical events will take place in May. On May 5 and 30, evenings from the “Musical Alliance” series will present works from J.S. Bach to A. Schnittke. On May 15, viewers will be able to enjoy “Great Opera Arias”, and on May 17, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Spain at the Flamenco Evening “Alex Geyer Flamenco Project.”
