The Astana Ballet Theatre is participating in the World Festival in Korea.

From September 24 to 28, 2025, the Cheonan World Dance Festival 2025 will be held in Cheonan, Republic of Korea. It is one of the largest international forums bringing together dance companies from around the world. Renowned for its scale and vibrant cultural diversity, Cheonan is currently the world capital of dance.
Kazakhstan will be represented at the festival by dancers from the Astana Ballet Theatre. They will perform excerpts from the national divertissement "Heritage of the Great Steppe"—the theatre's signature piece, which has captivated audiences both in Kazakhstan and abroad. The aesthetics, spectacle, richness of the costumes, and the profound meaning of Kazakh choreography have evoked genuine admiration from audiences worldwide.
"Heritage of the Great Steppe" is a choreographic narrative about the beauty and diversity of Kazakh culture. The program features lyrical and contemplative compositions, energetic and expressive miniatures, and productions imbued with philosophical imagery. The folk costumes are particularly impressive—bright and multi-layered, with rich ornamentation and exquisite details. Each costume brings to life ancient traditions, symbolic patterns, and natural motifs reflecting nomadic culture.
The Astana Ballet Theatre's participation in the Cheonan World Festival 2025 is of particular significance for the development of international cultural cooperation. Performing at the international festival will present the centuries-old heritage of Kazakh culture to a wider audience, strengthen mutual understanding between countries, and demonstrate that the art of dance is a universal language uniting peoples.
