Young directors from the Zhurgenov Academy received three awards at film festivals in Canada and Russia.

Representatives of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts received three awards at international film festivals in Canada and Russia.
Third-year student Erkhat Yersaiynov took third place with his film "Lost Island" at the Loon Film Festival in Ottawa. The festival brings together feature, documentary, animated, and experimental films dedicated to nature, peace, and animal welfare, and aims to support young filmmakers.
Representatives of the Academy received two more awards at the IV International Student Festival "Voskhozhdenie" (Ascent) in Moscow. The competition program included 50 films from seven CIS countries.
The film "Umbilical Cord" by Bauyrzhan Adayev, a graduate of the Animation Directing program, won in the "Best Directing of an Animated Film" category. "May" by fourth-year student Myrza Makhambet (Functional Film Directing) received a special jury prize "For First Steps in Acting."
The IV International Student Festival "Ascent" was held as part of the forum "Film Education: Joint Educational Projects of the CIS Countries" at the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov.
