
The International Festival of Arts for Children and Youth "Sirius – Rosa Khutor" continues on the federal territory "Sirius". Today, within the framework of the festival, the touring program of the Astana Opera State Opera and Ballet Theater began. Before the performance of the Kazakh ensemble, a congratulatory message from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was read out to the participants and organizers of the festival.
In his address, the Head of State called the festival an important humanitarian project making a significant contribution to the development of a dialogue of cultures between Russia and friendly states. The President noted that the festival brought together outstanding masters of art, leading creative collectives, and young performers taking their first steps on stage.
"I am convinced that the current festival will become another significant milestone in cultural and humanitarian interaction, serving to further comprehensively expand multifaceted cooperation for the benefit of our peoples and countries," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.
One of the key events of the festival program was the performance of the Astana Opera State Opera and Ballet Theater. On the Main Stage of the Sirius Concert Center, the Kazakh ensemble presented Léo Delibes' ballet "Coppélia" choreographed by the outstanding French maestro Roland Petit.
Ruslan Baimurzin conducted. The main parts were performed by leading soloists of the theater Aigerim Beketaeva, Arman Urazov, and Olzhas Tarlanov.
The Astana Opera festival program will continue until July 16. The audience will be presented with classical and modern ballet productions, as well as a national program featuring artists from Astana Opera and the ethno-folk ensemble HasSak.
