
From August 23rd to 27th, Astana will host the 79th International Bayan and Accordion Competition "Coupe Mondiale" and the 156th Congress of Delegates of the International Confederation of Accordionists (CIA). This large-scale musical event will be held for the first time in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
The competition is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and organized by the Roza Baglanova State Academic Concert Organization "Kazakhconcert."
Coupe Mondiale is one of the oldest and most renowned international competitions in the field of bayan and accordion. Leading performers, experts, and representatives of the International Confederation of Accordionists from Europe, Asia, America, Australia, and New Zealand will arrive in Astana. Among them are CIA President Mirko Patarini, Vice Presidents Li Tsong and Zorica Karakutovska, Secretary General Kimmo Mattila, and other representatives of the international music community. Over the next several days, the Central Concert Hall will host competitive auditions, master classes, and concert programs.
On August 25, Kazakhstani accordionist Olzhas Nurlanov, winner of the 74th International Coupe Mondiale Competition, will perform a concert.
On August 26, the audience will be treated to a concert program titled "Tango," featuring the musical group "Saz & Soul" and the quartet "Samǵa." The competition will also feature open master classes by renowned accordionists and bayanists.
On August 27, the final competitive auditions, the awards ceremony, and the closing ceremony of the Coupe Mondiale will take place.
