On October 29, the Turkestan region will host the international fair "Ceramic Production on the Silk Road: Traditions, Technologies, and Revival," featuring artists from five countries.
Representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan will participate in the event. The program includes a ceramics exhibition and fair, master classes, professional meetings, and cultural and educational activities.
Participants will demonstrate traditional ceramic making techniques—from clay preparation and molding to ornamentation, firing, and glazing. Special attention will be paid to the possibilities of combining traditional methods with modern technologies.
The fair aims to preserve and promote traditional ceramic art, develop professional exchange, and strengthen cultural ties between countries. The event will also present the historical and cultural heritage of the Otyrar district to a wider international audience.
