The "Astana Ballet" theater presented the national ballet "Altyn Gul" – a new production based on the images of history, nature, and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
The production is based on a historical artifact – a golden plate from the 3rd-2nd centuries BC depicting a tulip, discovered in the Tenlik mounds. This image became the starting point for the story of the master jeweler Zerger, who seeks to preserve the beauty of the steppe tulip in his art.
The production combines classical ballet, neoclassicism, and contemporary dance. Through the image of the steppe tulip, the performance reveals themes of inspiration, generational continuity, and humanity's connection to its native land.
The main choreographer of the production is Mukaram Avakhri, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. The music for the performance was composed by Renat Gaisin, composer and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. The libretto was written by Bakhyt Kairbekov, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, and the costume designer was Aigerim Altybasarova.
The premiere of "Altyn Gul" marked the finale of the 13th theatrical season of the "Astana Ballet" theater and an example of a modern scenic interpretation of Kazakhstan's cultural heritage.
