Mahler's Symphony opened the 91st season of the T. Abdrashiev Orchestra

The T. Abdrashev State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened its 91st concert season with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor, “Resurrection.”

The orchestra was joined by the B. Baikadamov State Choral Chapel. Conducting the performance was Kanat Omarov, the orchestra’s artistic director and principal conductor.

The “Resurrection” Symphony is one of the most monumental works in the world’s symphonic repertoire. This five-movement composition brings together orchestra, choir, and soloists, exploring themes of life, hope, and spiritual renewal.

The choral parts were prepared under the direction of Beimbet Demeuov, artistic director and principal conductor of the chapel.
