At the Qazaq Creative Hub, as part of the QOSTANAI CREATIVE CULTURE creative fair, organized by the national Creative Aimaq project, one of the most striking exhibits was that of Kazakhstani hyperrealistic sculptor Aidos Esmagambetov.
His works, striking in their precision, literally bring prominent historical figures of Kazakhstan to life, allowing viewers to feel face-to-face with the heroes of the past.
Visitors focused on his original project, Qazaq Eli, which aims to create a museum of hyperrealistic sculptures of historical figures and cultural representatives. Each work is executed with such a degree of authenticity that it creates the effect of being present, transforming the exploration of history into an emotional and profound experience.
According to the artist, the project aims to reveal national history in a new format, combining cultural heritage and modern artistic technologies. The sculptures become not just works of art, but a tool for popularizing historical memory and national identity. Aidos Esmagambetov was born in the city of Arkalyk in the Kostanay region. He received his professional education at the Ybyrai Altynsarin Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute, specializing in Fine Arts and Drawing. In 2018, he won the "100 New Faces of Kazakhstan" project in the "Culture" category. Today, the artist is known as one of the first artists in the CIS to master the technology of creating hyperrealistic sculptures using silicone, fiberglass, and other modern materials.
Among Aidos Esmagambetov's most famous works are hyperrealistic images of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev; Abylai Khan; the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abai; and the folk singer, Zhambyl Zhabayev.
However, the main merit of Aidos Esmagambetov's works lies not only in the choice of subjects but also in the exceptional precision of execution. Every wrinkle, every glance, every skin texture, and even individual hairs are reproduced with exquisite detail, giving the sculptures an almost photographic effect and a lifelike appearance.
The artist places particular emphasis on modern technology. In his work, he uses silicone, fiberglass, glass fiber, and other innovative materials to achieve maximum realism. It is the combination of traditional artistic craftsmanship and new technological solutions that makes his works unique.
As Aidos Esmagambetov noted during the fair, the project's main goal is to promote national values ​​through contemporary art and further develop this approach using robotics and animatronics.
"We strive to communicate the history and culture of Kazakhstan in a modern language so that the younger generation can gain a new understanding of the outstanding personalities of their country and feel a living connection to the past," the sculptor emphasized. Aidos Esmagambetov's exhibition became one of the fair's most visited spaces, clearly demonstrating that contemporary creative industries are capable not only of creating impressive works of art but also of revealing Kazakhstan's rich historical and cultural heritage in a new way.
