The XVII Eurasia International Film Festival, the largest in Central Asia, will bring together directors, actors, screenwriters and film enthusiasts from all over the world. It is not just a festival – it is a whole world of stories, emotions and views on modernity.
Since its foundation, Eurasia has become more than a traditional film festival — it is a bridge between East and West, where great cultural heritage meets modern trends. The festival is not just a competition. It is a platform for dialogue, inspiration and the discovery of new names in the world of cinema.
This year the festival promises to be especially large-scale:
– More than 15 participating countries;
– Films representing three continents;
– Two competitive programs with the participation of 22 films, each of which is unique.
This year's films come from countries representing unique cinematographic traditions. Among the participants:
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iran, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Russia: paintings touching on the themes of migration and the search for identity, as well as Yakutia, which in recent years has been surprising with bright, distinctive films.
This diversity allows viewers to see a palette of cultural traditions and the uniqueness of approaches to storytelling. The international competition demonstrates global themes: ecology, equality, personal and social crises.
The competition of countries of Central Asia and the Turkic world is a unique opportunity to learn how directors reveal national identity, talk about the challenges of the modern world.
The film festival program provides a platform for films that rarely get a wide release, but should definitely find their audience, who will be able to enjoy non-competitive programs:
– "World Panorama" – the best films from the world's largest festivals, including Cannes, Venice and Berlin;
– "New Kazakhstan Cinema" – a platform for young talents who are opening new horizons in Kazakhstan cinema;
– Retrospectives and special screenings – films that are rarely shown on big screens.
A key part of the festival is meeting with directors, actors and producers. This is a unique opportunity for young filmmakers to ask questions to masters, exchange experiences and learn the secrets of the film industry.
In addition, master classes in producing, screenwriting and camerawork will be held, which will help participants and viewers to look at cinema from a different perspective.
Everyone who has ever been to the Eurasia festival notes the unique atmosphere. This is a place where the line between viewers and filmmakers is blurred.
The XVII Eurasia International Film Festival is a holiday that cannot be missed. From November 24 to 30, Almaty will become the capital of cinema, the art of which erases borders and unites people.
The founder and organizer of the festival is traditionally the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The direct organization of the film festival is entrusted to the Shaken Aimanov National Film Studio "Kazakhfilm".
It should be noted that the sponsors were: Bazis-A International Construction Company, KAZ Minerals copper mining company, Sarens Kazakhstan, Salem Entertainment, Kinopark Theatres cinema chain, Astana Motors.
