A meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a delegation from the Phoenix Group, one of the leading publishing organizations of the People's Republic of China, took place in Astana.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in book publishing, librarianship, and digital platforms. They focused on the implementation of joint projects to promote reading.
The participants emphasized that cooperation in the book industry contributes to the development of cultural dialogue, the expansion of intellectual ties, and the strengthening of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the parties considered the possibility of establishing a joint working group and discussed a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Administration of Press, Publishing, Radio, Film, and Television of the People's Republic of China on the mutual translation and publication of classical works.
