2026 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of Akhmet Zhubanov, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR, founder of Kazakh national professional music, outstanding scholar, composer, conductor, Doctor of Arts, professor, and academician. In honor of this anniversary, the "Ghasyrlar Pernesi" concert will be held on January 23rd in the Concert Hall of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Orchestra of Folk Instruments.

The program will feature works from the master's musical legacy. Also participating will be Honored Artist of Kazakhstan and singer Tolkyn Zabirova, soloist of the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater Aidos Zhabagin, laureates of international and national competitions, and others.

The concert will feature an exhibition titled "The Life of Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov" at the Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov Memorial Museum, part of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition will feature archival documents, rare photographs, manuscripts, printed music, books, personal belongings, and materials about his contemporaries and students.
