There are 236 state archives in our country, including 5 republican, 5 special, 1 Presidential archive and 225 regional, city and district archives.

The number of employees of the archival service in the republic is more than 3 thousand people. All organizations work in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 22, 1998 "On the National Archival Fund and Archives".

Every year, the archival fund is replenished with an average of 300-400 thousand cases from more than 16 thousand organizations included in the list of sources of staffing of state archives.

Currently, the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan stores more than 27.5 million documents.

The archives of Kazakhstan, being the custodians of the documentary memory of the population, ensure the safety of intellectual property and cultural heritage of the country.
