The introduction of AI in the library sector was discussed in Almaty.

The National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a two-day seminar and training entitled "Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Digital Transformation and New Opportunities."
The event was organized as part of the implementation of the Decree of the Head of State "On Measures to Develop a Culture of Reading and Form an Intellectual Nation."
Participants discussed the application of artificial intelligence in libraries, the digitalization of library collections, the development of electronic libraries and modern digital services, the study of international experience, the implementation of modern standards, and the use of electronic databases. Special attention was paid to copyright issues and the preservation of valuable heritage.
Digital solutions were also presented to the participants. These included the LABA platform for library statistics and analytics, DILIGEN for converting library data into content, the LibRAG system, and the NurAI chatbot, which operates in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
Experts exchanged experiences in creating digital platforms for working with manuscripts, implementing intelligent services, and digitalizing and preserving library collections. In total, the seminar brought together more than 1,500 specialists from 20 regions of the country.
