A roundtable discussion, "Raising the Young Generation: Children's Content and Improving Media Literacy," was held in Almaty, organized by Almaty-based publications of Kazakh Gazetteri.
Children's writers, editors of specialized publications, journalists, and representatives of the library sector participated in the discussion.
Participants discussed the development of modern children's periodicals and literature, the creation of high-quality national content, improving media literacy, and the use of artificial intelligence.
Proposals included adapting Kazakh folklore characters into comics and animation, developing scientific and educational content, improving the quality of book illustrations, and strengthening the connection between authors and readers.
Special attention was paid to information management skills. Participants noted the importance of teaching children to analyze information, critically evaluate sources, and select high-quality content.
