
An evening of remembrance dedicated to the 125th birth anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh singer, dombra player, composer, and actor Manarbek Yerjanov took place in Ankara.
The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, government agencies, and the creative intelligentsia.
The program highlighted Manarbek Yerjanov's life and creative journey, as well as his contribution to the development of Kazakh musical art. Viewers were also shown a documentary about his life and work.
As part of the concert program, the "Arka Sazy" folk ensemble from Karaganda performed pieces of traditional Kazakh music. Performances were also given by Serzhan Musain, Nurlitan Sayatkyzy, and Gulmira Tapai. Poet and writer Serik Aksunkaruly presented his work, "Ballad of the Era of Manarbek Yerjanov."
The event was organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of the Karaganda Region.
