The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the traditional cultural and educational event "Night at the Museum – 2025", dedicated to International Museum Day. It was visited by about 40 thousand residents and guests of the capital.
The event was attended by Vice Minister of Culture and Information Aibek Sydykov. He read out a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva and presented departmental awards to museum staff. The "Enbek Ardageri" medal was awarded to restorer Nurgul Ashimbayeva, and the "Madeniets salasynyn uzdigi" badge was awarded to restorer Arai Zakikan, fund keeper Saltanat Karabekova and researcher Bakhytgul Nurgоzhina.
Participants aged 4 to 70 years old - kindergarten pupils, schoolchildren and pensioners - acted as guides in the museum halls. A bright event was the show project "Star Guide", in which famous TV presenters gave tours for guests. There were also theatrical excursions, quest games and master classes aimed at popularizing museum values.
Special attention of the guests was attracted by three new exhibitions: the exhibition "Great Steppe. History. Engraving" from the BonArt gallery collection, reflecting the way of life and appearance of the Kazakh steppe two centuries ago, an exhibition of Japanese comics, as well as the exhibition "Asyl mura", presenting unique exhibits from the funds of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The musical part of the evening was a concert program with the participation of symphony and wind orchestras, the Shalkyma dance ensemble and artists of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev State Academic Philharmonic, the creative team of the National Museum of Arts and the Joshy Qazaq National Group ethno-folklore ensemble, the Gulder ensemble of the Roza Baglanova Kazakhkontsert State Academic Concert Organization, as well as the ethno-DJ set "Melodies of the Steppe".
"Night at the Museum" is not just an evening visit to the exhibitions. It is a unique cultural space for dialogue with the national heritage, rethinking history and art, and deep spiritual contact with cultural values.
