"Astana Opera" will gather ballet stars at the Freedom Festival

The Kazakh public will see the premiere of "Souvenir de Danse", choreographed by the internationally renowned choreographer Valentino Zucchetti. The production is based on the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and features three pairs of artists, each of whom will tell their unique love story through dance. Among the performers are world-class stars: Sarah Lamb and Ryoichi Hirano from the Royal Ballet in London, as well as leading soloist of Astana Opera Bakhtiyar Adamzhan and soloist of the theater Anastasia Zaklinskaya. The third pair of artists are Alejandro Verales from the London City Ballet and Maria Baranova, leading soloist of the Bavarian State Ballet. Elmar Buribaev conducts the theater's string orchestra.

Valentino Zucchetti, who began his career as an artist at La Scala, later at the Zurich and Norwegian Ballet and is now working at the Royal Ballet in London, is famous for his fine sense of music and unique approach to classical choreography. He began his career as a choreographer with the London Theatre, and has also staged performances for the Royal Ballet School, the New English Ballet Theatre, the Polish National Youth Ballet, the Spanish National Ballet, the La Scala Ballet School and others. With extensive experience, he successfully combines the traditions of classical ballet with elements of modern dance styles and creates works that touch the hearts of viewers around the world.

"Participation in the Freedom Festival is a first for us, and it's always interesting. We heard that it takes place in Almaty, and we are glad that Astana Opera is now becoming a part of it. It is also a benefit for the theater - we receive a new production by Valentino Zucchetti "Souvenir de Danse" as a gift. And it is very nice when you are given such creative gifts, subsequently the production will become part of the permanent repertoire of the theater. Our artists note that they are especially interested in working with a young choreographer whose work was previously unfamiliar. Valentino made the most favorable impression on our couple: a positive, creative, talented young man. I think this will be a good experience for them," - said Altynai Asylmuratova, artistic director of the ballet troupe.

The audience will also have a meeting with the one-act ballet Into the Hairy performed by the L-E-V theater, staged by Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal to the music of Koreless. S. Eyal is known for her bold vision of dance. Her productions make the viewer immerse themselves in unexplored worlds, playing on the verge between beauty and the unusual. S. Eyal worked at the famous Batsheva Dance Company and later founded her own group L-E-V, which became famous for its non-standard approach to ballet.

The aesthetics of the production will be complemented by costumes from Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of Dior, made of black lace. Their sophistication gives the performance a special charm, combining the beauty of ballet and the art of haute couture.

Italian critic Maria Luisa Buzzi called Sharon Eyal's new production "powerful and mysterious," noting its emotional depth and bold approach to dance plasticity. The performance aroused wide interest in European ballet circles and is now ready to surprise the Kazakh public as part of the third Freedom Festival.
