A closed screening of the film "QAITADAN" was held in Astana. It is the first disaster film in the history of Kazakhstani cinema.
The film tells the story of a selfish city boy, Rauan, whose parents take him to a village before an important sports competition. Planning to spend only one day there, he suddenly finds himself trapped in a time loop: events repeat themselves over and over again. In search of a way out, Rauan witnesses a large-scale disaster that turns his life upside down.
Welcoming the audience, the Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erlan Dakenov, noted that this film is a philosophical story that touches on important topics - the difference between generations, the mistakes of the past and the search for a new path.
This project won the 2023 pitching and was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the State Center for the Support of National Cinema.
It should be noted that over the past six years, 118 domestic films have been shot with the support of the Center. Kazakhstani films have taken part in more than 280 international festivals and won 157 awards, which is a confirmation of the dynamic development of national cinema. The film "QAITADAN" will be released on September 4.
