
On February 8, the Astana Ballet Theatre will host the Symphony Orchestra's concert "From the Fjords to the New World." This program combines works by two outstanding 19th-century composers – Edvard Grieg and Antonín Dvořák. The Astana Ballet Theatre Symphony Orchestra will also perform.
The first half will feature works by Edvard Grieg, including excerpts from Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt – "Morning," "Anitra's Dance," and "In the Hall of the Mountain King," as well as the Piano Concerto in A minor. The soloist will be People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and state prize laureate Zhaniya Aubakirova. The second half of the concert will feature Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World."
