A musical evening dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Austrian composer and conductor Johann Strauss II took place in Astana on the stage of the Roza Baglanova Kazakhconcert State Academic Concert Organization.
To mark the anniversary, the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Kazakhstan, presented a festive concert program including the maestro's most famous works: "Voices of Spring", "Emperor Waltz", "On the Beautiful Blue Danube", "Radetzky March" and other gems of the Viennese music school.
A special place in the program was occupied by the "Kazakh Waltz" by Latif Khamidi - a symbol that the spirit of the waltz was reflected in the Kazakh musical culture. The concert also featured famous performers - Laura Kumarhanova, Zhibek Sapargalieva, Gumir Saidalin, Aidar Muratuly and Rosa Soltykhanova.
Under the direction of maestro Ernest Hoetzl, the audience heard not only legendary waltzes, but also rare pages of Strauss' work - polonaises, polkas and marches. Ernest Hoetzl is a conductor with a worldwide reputation, whose creative geography covers the leading concert venues of the planet: Musikverein (Vienna), Philharmonie (Berlin), Carnegie Hall (New York) and Teatro alla Scala (Milan).
